Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 3, 2026 — Agent Detour, operated by Bullit Technologies Limited
This Privacy Policy explains how Bullit Technologies Limited ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Agent Detour mobile app ("the App").
Agent Detour is free to download and use, and does not display advertising. We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we never will.
1. Who we are
Agent Detour is operated by Bullit Technologies Limited, a company registered in the United Kingdom. If you have questions about this policy or your data, you can contact us at privacy@agentdetour.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: a username you choose, an optional email address, and optionally a first/last name if you provide one during sign-up.
- Preferences: the sports, competitions, and teams you follow (including any you exclude), and your notification settings, so we can personalise your feed.
- Push notification token: a device push token (delivered via Expo, using Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android and APNs on iOS) that lets us send you notifications you've opted into (e.g. breaking news, kickoff reminders, full-time scores), plus your device platform and the date you installed the app.
- Activity data: when you were last active in the app, so we can maintain your account and understand engagement with the App.
- Usage data: which stories, games, and features you interact with, used to improve content relevance and to detect trending topics. This includes search terms you enter, so we can identify trending topics across users.
- Saved stories: if you bookmark a story, we store a record of it against your account so you can find it again.
- Game and leaderboard data: your scores, streaks, and performance in the App's games, which may be visible to other users on leaderboards.
- Mates/social features: if you use the "mates" or friend-search functionality, we store your username, any name you've provided, and the connections you make.
- Support messages: if you contact us or submit a suggestion via the App, we store your message and, where applicable, your account identifier so we can respond.
- Device and technical information: device type, operating system version, and app version, used for compatibility and troubleshooting.
We do not currently collect crash or session-replay diagnostic data. If this changes in a future update, this policy will be updated to reflect it before that data collection begins.
3. How we use your information
- To provide and personalise the App's core features (your feed, scores, games, and notifications)
- To operate social features you choose to use (following mates, leaderboards)
- To maintain and improve the reliability and performance of the App
- To communicate with you about the App, if you contact us or opt into notifications
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.
4. Who we share information with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to operate the App. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually restricted from using it for their own purposes:
- Supabase — database and backend infrastructure hosting your account and preference data
- Firebase (Google) — push notification delivery
- OpenAI — used to generate story summaries and breakdowns from publicly available sports news content. This does not involve sending your personal account data to OpenAI
- API-Sports and other sports data providers — supply live scores and statistics; we do not send your personal data to these providers
- PostHog — product analytics (EU-hosted), used to understand how the App is used (e.g. which screens and features you interact with) so we can improve it
- Resend — used to deliver support and suggestion messages you send us to our team by email
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
5. Mates and search
To protect your privacy, single-word searches only match against usernames, not real names. Multi-word searches may also match first/last names if you've provided them when you signed up. We don't currently offer a separate setting to control the visibility of this information beyond what you choose to provide at sign-up and in your profile — if this changes, we'll update this policy.
6. Data retention
We retain account and preference data for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and personal data deleted, contact us at privacy@agentdetour.com and we'll remove it from our systems within 30 days, except where we're required to retain it for legal or security purposes.
7. Your rights
If you are located in the UK or EU, you have rights under UK GDPR / EU GDPR, including the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Data portability
To exercise any of these rights, including requesting deletion of your account, contact us at privacy@agentdetour.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
8. Children's privacy
Agent Detour is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Future changes — subscriptions
Agent Detour is currently free with no advertising. If we introduce an optional paid subscription in future, this policy will be updated to describe any additional payment-related data (handled by our payment processor, not stored directly by us) before that feature launches.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll notify you within the App.
